Maize Chip
The Schnable Laboratory and the ISU microarray facility have generated a series of maize cDNA gene chips. The cDNA clones spotted on these chips were obtained from NSF Plant Genome EST projects led by Drs. Virginia Walbot and Patrick Schnable, and some ESTs were ordered from Arizona Genomics Institute. Using NSF funding, genetic mapping data have been obtained for about 2,250 cDNAs and about 3,000 genic regions of genomic sequences (IDP mapping project). About 2,800 of these mapped cDNA have been included on the maize chips. The map locations for many of these are available for downloading.
We have created an online application called MADI (MicroArray Data Interface) to facilitate researchers in querying and viewing information of spots printed on chips. This interface enables users to run BLAST against different chips, search spots based on a given keywords, and retrieve annotation results.
