The Sequenom MassARRAY© System, a new mass spectrometer machine for genotyping at Iowa State, will speed up genomic plant mapping and lead to more efficient plant breeding. More...

The Genomic Technologies Facility (formerly the Microarray Facility) provides the expertise and equipment to conduct biological research at the genomic level. Our services include the production and analysis of custom spotted microarray chips for global mRNA profiling experiments, Sequenom MassARRAY® iPLEX® genotyping Assays, and Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM). In addition, two RealTime thermocyclers (Stratagene Mx4000 and Roche LightCycler 480) are available for high throughput gene expression analyses and Taqman genotyping. The Facility Manager is available to answer questions regarding the use of technologies available from the GTF and experimental design.

Before accessing facility equipment and services, users are required to provide a signed and approved user agreement to the Facility Manager. The Services section provides more information about the fee structure.

After training, users typically operate the Microarray Scanner and Analysis Software themselves. Reservations may be made using the facility's on-line scheduler. The user name and password needed to do this are provided after submission and approval of a user agreement.

Consultations and facility tours are available by appointment only. Please contact Genomic Technologies Facility Manager at 515-294-7491, or by for more information.
